Terms of Use
The short version of how the notes, recipes and lists on this blog may be read, quoted and used, and what they do not promise.
What this site is
Hunter Ashworth is a personal field-notes blog about South African print culture, hand-set metal type, paper stock, risograph behaviour and zine binding. Nothing here is a shop, a service desk or an account system. There are no orders, no bookings and no payments.
Reading and personal use
Posts, ink recipes, binding notes and supplier lists are shared for reading and for your own studio work. Print a page for the workshop wall, copy a recipe into your notebook, try a method on your own press. That kind of use is what the writing is for.
No warranty on methods
Everything written here reflects one writer's observation in specific studios, on specific presses, with specific paper. A method, recipe or supplier that worked in Observatory may behave differently in your space, on your stock or in your climate. No warranty is given that any described approach will work as written.
Text and photographs
The written posts and the original photographs on this site belong to the writer. Please do not republish them in full elsewhere. Short quotations with a link back to the original page are welcome, and so is a note asking first if you want to use more.
Messages and data
If you write through the contact form, your message is handled as set out on the policy page. The blog does not run accounts, comments or subscriptions, and no reply time is promised.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the blog grows or as the way it is written changes. The current version is always the one published on this page.
