Plain notes on what happens to a message you send, how the writing on this blog should be read, and where to write if you want something corrected or removed.
This is a slow-updating blog about print culture, type and small presses. There is no account to create, no subscription running in the background and no tracking layer sitting between you and the page. What follows describes the small amount of data this site actually handles, in the same unpolished tone as the posts.
What the contact form collects
The form on the contact page asks for your first name, your email address and, optionally, what you are working on, your city or town, and a note about technique, tools or materials. A consent checkbox confirms you are willing to receive occasional studio notes by email.
When you submit, the handler records the values you entered along with the submission time, the form identifier, the page language and the source query string from the address bar. That record is written locally to a plain log file at /private/submissions.jsonl on the same server. It is not sent to a mailing platform, a CRM or an analytics service, because none of those are connected to this site.
How long it stays, and how to remove it
There is no automatic deletion schedule. Entries sit in the log until the site owner clears them by hand. If you want your message gone before that happens, write to the address below and it will be removed from the log.
You can ask to see what is held about you, have it corrected, receive a copy in a portable format, or withdraw the consent you gave when submitting. Requests are handled by the site owner directly. Where a reader is in the EU or California, the same access, deletion, correction, portability and opt-out rights apply, and they are honoured the same way.
Images and what they show
Process photos and studio images on this blog illustrate materials, tools and methods. They are not proof of a specific result, a particular workshop, a named client or a finished commission. Treat them as visual notes on how something looks, not as a record of a job.
The limits of the writing
Posts describe personal studio observation. They are not professional advice on printing, binding or paper selection, and results will vary with your press, your stock and the weather in your studio. Supplier lists and open studio days are shared in good faith and may change without notice.
Nothing here makes misleading claims, invents urgency, fabricates endorsements or implies an official affiliation or a guaranteed outcome. Where a detail is uncertain, it is marked as such rather than stated as fact.
Privacy questions and requests
Write to the site owner for anything covered above: access, correction, deletion, portability or withdrawing consent. Correspondence is handled at the address below.
